A child can struggle to read something independently and still be completely ready for the ideas inside it. Reading level matters—but it doesn’t have to put a ceiling on everything our kids are allowed to learn.
I Want My Kids to Have Opinions About Their Education
As my kids get older, I want them to have more of a voice in their education. That doesn’t mean they make every decision. It means learning to notice what works, explain what doesn’t, and gradually take more ownership of how they learn.
