What is Sweet Potato Kids?

Sweet Potato Kids is a homeschool support community built for families who want to homeschool differently—with more confidence, flexibility, connection, and support.

Through parent coaching, practical resources, community experiences, and encouragement, we help homeschool parents build an education that works for their actual family rather than trying to recreate someone else's version of homeschool.

What is the mission of Sweet Potato Kids?

Our mission is to help families homeschool with confidence, connection, and intention.

We believe homeschooling can be academically meaningful without consuming your entire life, flexible without being directionless, and deeply personal without having to do it all alone.

What are the core values of Sweet Potato Kids?

We value family-centered education, flexibility, authentic connection, thoughtful learning, and meeting children where they are.

At the center of Sweet Potato Kids is a simple belief: there is no single “right” way to homeschool. The best homeschool is one thoughtfully built around the children and family actually living it.

How is Sweet Potato Kids different from Sweet Potato Academy?

Sweet Potato Kids is the larger homeschool support community. Our coaching, resources, and other offerings are designed to support homeschool families wherever they live.

Sweet Potato Academy is our in-person tutoring and assisted homeschool program located in Prairieville, Louisiana.

Do I have to follow a specific homeschool style?

Not at all.

Classical, eclectic, Charlotte Mason, unschooling, traditional—or something you've pieced together entirely on your own—we're much more interested in whether your homeschool works for your family than what label you give it.

Our goal is to help you make intentional choices, troubleshoot what's not working, and build something sustainable for your family.

What kind of support do you offer homeschool parents?

Sweet Potato Kids offers parent coaching, practical homeschool resources, community opportunities, and experiences designed to make homeschooling feel more supported and sustainable.

Because our offerings continue to grow, the best place to see what's currently available is through our Resource Center, coaching options, and current programs.

Can you help me get started if I am brand new to homeschooling?

Absolutely.

You don't need to have your curriculum, schedule, philosophy, or entire homeschool figured out before asking for support. We can help you sort through your options, identify what matters most for your family, and make your next decisions with more confidence.

Is Sweet Potato Kids faith-based?

Sweet Potato Kids was created from a Christian worldview, and our faith naturally shapes our values and the way we approach family, education, and community.

At the same time, our resources and support are designed to be useful and welcoming to homeschool families from a variety of backgrounds.
